At Refuge of Hope we understand that walking into a new church for the first time can be intimidating. Little things like not knowing where things are, what ministries are available, or even how the service operates can interfere with your ability to focus on and connect with Jesus. We hope the details found here will help to take away some of those question marks and make your initial visit easier.
When You Arrive
As you enter the building you will be greeted by a host or hostess. You will then make your way up a short flight of stairs and find a welcome booth to your right. There you will have access to water, mints, and more information. This welcome center will be staffed by someone who can answer any questions you may have. This individual will also provide you with an information card. It is our hope that you will fill it out so we can follow up with you following the service to see if we can serve you in any other way. Rest assured, we will not share or abuse the contact information you share with us.
Our Services
Our services are filled with vibrant worship. We clap our hands, lift our hands, sing aloud, and offer heartfelt expressions of worship. Please feel free to worship God in ways in which you are comfortable. If you need assistance at any time during the service, please talk with one of our ushers at the back of the sanctuary.
Nursery
Our nursery is available during our services for children up to 3 years. The nursery is located across the foyer from the main sanctuary doors. One of the ushers or hosts or hostesses will be happy to direct you to it.
Children and Youth Classes
During our Sunday School hour (10:00 -11:00) there are classes designed to minister to both children and teens. It is the desire of our children's and youth ministry teams to create a safe engaging environment where these groups can connect with Jesus in a way that applicable to their lives right now.
What We Believe
The Refuge of Hope is a Bible-based, Spirit-filled fellowship. We believe God changes people’s lives through the power of His Spirit. This includes physical and emotional healing, deliverance from addiction, restoration of relationships, and the infilling of the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus is fully divine and fully human, and we confess Him as Lord and Savior. If you have any questions while you’re here or if you would like a personal Bible study, please notify one the ushers, or hostesses.
What to Wear
Many people aren’t sure what to wear when they visit. We want you to be comfortable when you visit, so wear what you’re comfortable wearing. Once you arrive, you’ll see a range of styles from jeans to suits. Casual or dressy. . . it doesn’t matter.
